Main Street Theater is a nonprofit community theater located in downtown Chicago. Established in 1979, it is dedicated to producing quality live theatrical performances and providing theater education opportunities to the local community.
We produce a wide variety of musicals and plays each season, ranging from classics to contemporary works. Past productions have included Cabaret, A Christmas Carol, & Fiddler on the Roof. Our goal is to offer entertaining and thought-provoking theatrical experiences for all ages.
There are many ways to get involved with Main Street Theater beyond attending shows! We are always looking for volunteers to help with costumes, sets, props, promotions, and more. You can also audition for roles in our productions or take part in our youth theater program.
Our regular season runs from September through May each year. We typically stage 2-3 productions during that time with performances taking place Friday-Sunday evenings and Sunday matinees. Check our website for specific show dates and times.
Tickets can be purchased online through our website or by calling our box office. You can also stop by the theater in person an hour before performances. Ticket prices are $20 for adults and $15 for students/seniors. Group rates are available as well.
